A new range of eco-designed boxes
In line with the ecological commitment followed over recent decades, Château Lagrange now offers a more sustainable alternative to the wooden case : a range of locally made eco-responsible cardboard boxes.
The property’s new collection of cardboard boxes demonstrates an environmental commitment on several levels. First of all, the recyclability: there is no real recycling solution for the wooden case, contrary to the cardboard box. The boxes in our range are made of 70% recycled fibres and printed with water-based ink.
Five times lighter than a wooden case, these cardboard boxes also enable a reduction in energy consumption, both in their production and their transport. Because they arrive flat at our site, they require less transport trucks.
Finally, they are made on the right bank of the Gironde, just 40 kilometres from Château Lagrange, by a company engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility like Lagrange. “This initiative fits perfectly with our environmental approach here at the Château” explains Benjamin Vimal, deputy general manager.
These boxes are simple and elegant, decorated with a representation of Château Lagrange’s vineyard that has not changed for two centuries. They reflect the product range, maintaining the identity of each of our 5 wines. Despite their light weight, the special double-fluted cardboard makes them very resistant and ensures safe transport for the wine.
